1. Workshop Report

The 2nd EATCS Japan chapter workshop was held at Univ. Kyoto, Research Institute of Mathematical Sciences, February 2nd - 4th, 2004. Please check the list of presented papers; you may be albe to find something interesting!

2. Award Report

The EATCS/LA Presentation Award was created for this workshop, which is given to one or two young speakers who make an excellent presentation in the workshop. The awardee is selected by votes from those attended the workshop.

Unfortunately, in this workshop, we have not collected enough number of votes on the workshop's last day, for determining the award winner by votes as planned. But following the proposal of Prof. Iwama, we decided to give two year EATCS membership to Tatsuya Sato, a student speaker, for his excellent presentation of the following paper at the workshop.

3. Report on the Business Meeting
