1. Workshop Report

The 3rd EATCS Japan chapter workshop was held at Univ. Kyoto, Research Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Jan. 31 - Feb. 2nd, 2005. Please check the list of presented papers; you may be albe to find something interesting!

2. Award Report

The EATCS/LA Presentation Award was created for this workshop, which is given to a young speakers who make an excellent presentation in the workshop. The award winner is selected by votes from the audience of the workshop.

This year, for the 3rd EATCS/LA Presentation Award, we seleceted Dr. Yuichiro Miyamoto (Sophia Univ.) for his excellent presentation of the following paper.

Congratulations!

This year (and may be valid for the following years), we decided to have an award celemony at the Summer LA Symposium, which will be held July 2005.

3. Report on the Business Meeting

The business meeting of the EATCS Japan Chapter was also held at the workshop. The following items have been reported / discussed. (Note: Base on our rule, any decision/proposal becomes valid after confirmation on the mailing list.)

A New Stiring Committee

Accoring to our rule, a stiring committee should be selected every two years. This time, at the business meeting, Prof. Inagaki (the chair) wished to step down from the chair; then the following new stiring committee (candidate) was proposed and accepted.

The new committee (after the approval on the mailing list) will be valid from May 2005.
